URBAN NEWS BRIEF

SUMMER 2015 PHILADELPHIA GIFT SHOW ATTRACTS REGION’S RETAILERS WITH EASY ACCESS TO NEW VENDORS, BEST-SELLING BRANDS

ATLANTA (July 31, 2015) - Special spotlights on new vendors, buyer resources and the show’s partnership with Craft Retailers and Artists For Tomorrow (CRAFT) were among the new initiatives that drew retailers from throughout the Mid-Atlantic and Tri-State region to the July 22-25, 2015 Philadelphia Gift Show at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center.

“Our ‘Buy More. Spend Less. Find New.’ marketing campaign is striking a chord with retailers throughout the region.  They know they will always find fresh new designs, their staple lines, and see their sales reps – all close to home –meaning less time away from their businesses and lower travel expenses ,” said Dirk von Gal, Industry Vice President of Gift, Urban Expositions.  “It’s a formula that works and we’re constantly fine-tuning it by seeking out even more unique, locally sourced designs, artisan goods and other items that offer great sales appeal.”

“We find the Philadelphia Gift Show to be the most productive of the shows we attend,” said Frank and Georgeann Modelli, Nikki’s Card & Gift Shop, Maywood, NJ, talking about the show’s selection and services.  “It offers great variety and we always find the perfect items at the right price to sell in our store. We look forward to seeing our reps, meeting new ones and seeking out new products.”

“This was my third year as the sole buyer for our store and I find it so much easier to attend the Philadelphia Gift Show than a few others further away,” adds Isabel Danielak, Silverton Pharmacy, Toms River, NJ.  “I always find great new items, vendors are always friendly and available to answer questions and make suggestions for our large gift department, and show housing is near and no hassle.”

In addition to product, the show also featured new events and special promotions, including an expanded seminar schedule, retailer giveaways, free buyer breakfast, stay for the last day specials, and daily $50 cash giveaways.  Roseanne Gallagher of J Madison Spa & Salon in Kingston, PA was the $50 Grand Prize Giveaway winner, receiving a complimentary hotel stay at the winter 2016 edition of the Philadelphia Gift Show.

Adding to the show’s full educational roster of programs on   social media, visual merchandising and customer buying strategies was a special session  stemming from the Philadelphia Gift Show’s partnership with Craft Retailers and Artists For Tomorrow (CRAFT), the non-profit trade organization supporting the business of handmade American craft.   During the presentation, CRAFT President Diane Sulg shared suggestions and strategies to help retailers successfully add the right mix of handmade crafts to their stores.

The Winter 2016 edition of the Philadelphia Gift Show will feature a new Friday – Monday date pattern,  scheduled for Friday, January 8- Monday, January 11, 2016 at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center.   Look for more information coming soon on a brand new website design, new hassle-free ExpressPass™ registration procedure and more in upcoming months.
